Maps for a Book

Maps for a Book | News

Over the next year or so, I will create maps for a book by Eugene, Oregon native, A. Lynn Ash.

A retired college geography teacher, Ash spent 30 years camping out across the US and Canada - mostly by herself. In her book, she shares her experiences as a single woman traveling alone in America, starting with a heart-thumping visit to an Arizona fire lookout where she meets iconic author, Edward Abbey. Ash introduces us to people, places and birds from coast to coast; and as a geographer, she turns us on to North America’s rich geographic heritage.

The working title of Ash's book is, The Route from Cultus Lake, a Woman's Path to a Solo Camping Lifestyle.

Check out the Imus Geographics shop to purchase an assortment of maps - USA, Oregon, the Sierra Nevadas and more. Imus Geographics’ map of the USA offers improved legibility and a greater diversity of content. It beat out other maps of the USA to be selected as the best map published in North America for 2010.
